Evenings and Weekends

Hours: 10 hours per week (annualised contract)
We anticipate that this will usually be Saturdays 9am - 4pm but will also include evening shifts, plus additional hours (evenings/weekends) if required - overtime will also be available
Pay: £11/hour
Pension: on a Total Pay basis employer/employee contribution are 3.5%

Hebden Bridge Town Hall is a busy place, and Duty Officers support us outside of our usual opening hours with both regular and special events. We are recruiting a Duty Officer to work alongside our existing team of one contracted and three casual Duty Officers.

As a Duty Officer, you are the face of HBCA, and are responsible for both the safety of those attending events at the Town Hall and the security of the building. You will need to be friendly and responsive, liaising with events organisers and staff and making decisions. You will usually be working at big events such as weddings and parties, but could also be covering corporate events, meetings, art and craft fairs, or any number of our regular weekday bookings. We are looking to recruit a Duty Officer on an annualised contract for 10 hours a week, with the opportunity to take on more/longer shifts as the need arises. Our Duty Officers usually work outside of office hours (which are weekdays 8.30am - 4pm), and this will definitely involve late nights (1:00am at the latest) and weekends - if we are exceptionally busy we may ask you to work during ‘normal’ hours as well.

In addition, there will be regular briefing and planning meetings with other staff and training (fire safety and first aid), which you will need to attend.
